My 2017 Bucket List

What I want to do in 2017

2016 was rough for some and a blessing for others. Friends got engaged, married, found out they're pregnant, had a baby or got a new job. Now, do not get my wrong, 2016 had some ups but it definitely had a few downs. I did a lot, I moved to Flordia, got a new job and took the adventure of a lifetime to visit my brother in India. I just wish I would've done even more in 2016, tried harder to get ahead or just spent more time by myself. So I'm making a list; a list of things I want to get done this year. My year, 2017! It's going to be great and even if it isn't, I know it will be full of stories to tell my children.

1. Buy myself something nice

2. Win in the 1000 coin pool game

3. Rid myself of unwanted people

4. Read more

5. Go to the gym more

6. Watch every single episode of Sex and the City

7. Keep up with The Bachelor (will Nick find love?)

8. Drink more white wine (not moscato)

9. Train my cat to use the toilet

10. Do things for myself

11. Sleep in my bed more

12. Save up to go to NYC before I graduate

13. Graduate

14. Make new friends

15. Get wifi

16. Unpack from India

17. Find a job

18. Go to the beach more

19. Study more

20. Get more A's

21. Eat in the cafeteria more

22. Volunteer more

23. Fight harder for what I believe in

24. Spend time in the library

25. Drink more coffee

26. Go skydiving

27. Use less data

28. Learn to cook more

29. Take the long way home

30. Sleep more

31. Have more girl's nights

32. Spend less money

33. Learn how to knit a huge blanket

34. Decorate my house

35. Find my favorite drink at Starbucks

36. Leave Greenwood

Who knows if I will be able to pull all of these off and who knows if it will make me feel accomplished; but even if I do half of these, I'll know I put forth an effort to make myself happy. So I'm starting today and I'm looking forward to making 2017 a good year. For me, I hope it's 10 times better than 2016.

I hope that each and every one of you have an amazing 2017. I hope it is full of love, happiness, and adventure.

Make this year the best year yet!

Love,

New year, improved me

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
