I Let My Brother Pick Out My Clothes For A Week And Here's What Happened

I see a lot about husbands or fiancés doing things for their girls, but I don't see a lot about brothers or sisters doing things for each other. So I decided to ask my brother if he would pick my clothes out for a week. He actually agreed! We're about to see what a 12-year-old boy notices about his older sister's clothing choices.

Often times I think he doesn't pay attention, so I don't know if I'm going to match or not. It doesn't matter if I don't because this is going to be fun too, I think. We decided to start last Saturday, the 20th, and the last day will be Friday, May 26th.

Saturday

So, he was a little unsure today. He kept looking at me for confirmation that he was doing it right and asking if certain things were okay or not. It was really cute! But he was also able to find a pair of matching socks. If you know me, you know I never wear matching socks. I just don't like it, don't know why, but I don't.

So in the picture I pulled up a pant leg to show one of them off. I look goofy, but that's totally okay with me! With this outfit, it makes me think he likes me in red, though. Red socks, my shirt has red on it and my jacket is red. I used to have red glasses, and he loved them, so I think that's coming out in this outfit that he still prefers them over my blue ones.

Sunday

I had to work today, so there was a stipulation of having to wear jeans. He was totally okay with it! There were less questions today, just him asking if I liked what he was picking out. I somehow got lucky and he didn't find another pair of matching socks, although both socks did have a cat on it. This is really something I would wear on a normal day though! So far the outfits he's picked out have turned out to be something I would wear.

Monday

Ah, the worst day of the week. At least usually it is but today it isn't so bad. Nice weather! He also picked out one of my favorite shirts today. Who doesn't enjoy Pink Floyd? It's also a very comfy outfit, easy to relax and move around in. It's great! Although it is all black, which I don't normally do because it's boring. But today it's okay since I'll be at home most of the day.

Tuesday

Today we were definitely thinking more relaxed, inside clothes I think. Mikey knows I love Stitch so that's part of why he picked out the pants. I had a darker blue tank top on but when I was holding my hedgehog it got peed on. So. I had to change it. But this was really comfy! I'm glad he picked it out for me to wear! (Don't mind the messy room.)

Wednesday

I let him know that today was going to be warm and he picked out the shorts! He also picked out the shirt, but I probably wouldn't have normally worn this shirt with these shorts. I think the blue is a little too light to really go with Tigger. That may just be my opinion! But I still liked the outfit. He's been trying to so hard and not asking any questions at all anymore.

Thursday

We reverted back to black pants. I don't mind, just maybe would have done my capri yoga pants or jeans. But that's just me! He's picking out very comfy outfits, so I definitely don't have a problem with it. Those lovely red socks were picked out again for me to wear since they'd been washed. Matching socks. Ugh.

Friday

The last day! Who knew this would go by so fast?? I didn't think it would, but it was really fun. Today he picked out this outfit since I said it was going to be hot out and we're going camping. This shirt is also one of my favorites since I absolutely love coffee. I got it from a friend during a secret gift exchange.

Overall this week has showed me that my brother has paid a lot more attention than I thought he did. I mean, he does hide in his room a lot and I was gone a lot this first semester of college since I was living on campus. But he definitely pays attention. I really enjoyed letting him pick out my outfits and seeing what he liked to see girls in. I'm kind of glad that he didn't purposely mismatch me, although I would have been totally okay with it.

So, would you let your brother pick your clothes out for a week?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
