How To Bring Out The Positivity

If you don't see the positivity, be the positivity.

With everything we hear or see every day, we see a lot of negativity and sometimes just seeing or hearing something bad brings us down. We question everything, why some people do things, or why bad things happen more and more. We are so wrapped up in the negativity we are forgetting to look at the positive side. Sometimes there are stories that make it hard to see the positive side and you may think that there isn't a positive side but there is.

For an example, the new rave about Brock Turner and the case against him, we may think that there isn't a positive side, but when you think about everything that was done and even though it's far from fair, we are forgetting that two men stopped the rape and held him down till help arrived. They didn't know either one of them, yet they stopped what they were doing and helped. They brought some positivity to the situation. It taught me to help anyone who needs it, whether you know them or not.

Social media is increasing every day and sometimes its not always the best thing, no matter what we do we can never really get away from it. We see it everywhere even if we don't realize it. Sometimes it shows the good, but not often. It brings the bad out, I see more stories of wrong doings, and things that make my stomach turn and upset. Even there are some stories about the police men and women that do good for their city, it's still not a lot.

I'm tired of seeing all the negative aspects that happen day to day and not everything that happens makes us happy, or be grateful that we live in a great place. I know that we shouldn't do things just to be recognized or to be praised for the acts of kindness that we show others, but that doesn't mean we can't do it anyways. You should be wanting to do things, because you want to. Of course no one is going to make you do anything you don't want to do, but when I show acts of kindness it puts me in a better mood.

I feel that even though the things I do are small but they can be big to others. We are put on this earth to be best we can be, no one should be our enemy. We don't know really know one of another but that doesn't mean we can't be nice. Whether we are Christian, Jewish, Muslim or an atheist, shouldn't matter, and we should bring positivity to the world everyday.

No one is telling you how do things, we don't have to listen to others, we should be listening to ourselves and what we want to do. There will always be bad news and stories that will fill our newsfeeds, and the things we hear, it will question why some people do the things they do but we should always want to bring out the positivity, and if it is hard to find the positivity, then we should make more of it. We should live and experience life and not worry so much about the negativity.

For me, I don't want to watch social media 24/7 only to fill my mind will negativity. I want to be out there and spreading positivity and looking at everything with a positive outlook, because someone has to, and I want it to be me, because its what I want to do. I don't want someone telling me I have to be mean to someone that is different than me, because that's not the kind of person I am and it's not who I want to be.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
