Road trips can be either extremely fun or extremely boring, its all dependent upon what (and who) you bring with you. Whether you're just heading up north for a weekend, or taking a 17-hour drive to Florida, you will definitely want to take a look this list of road trip necessities!

1. Fun travel buddies

The people you bring with you on a road trip can literally make or break your experience. Bring some fun friends with you to help make the drive a little more bearable!

2. The obvious, SNACKS!

Eat until you put yourself into a food coma, you have a long drive to sleep it off anyways!

3. Pillows and blankets

Comfort is key to surviving a long drive.

4. A lit playlist

Put on some throwback songs and everyone in the car will be having a good time!

5. Portable phone chargers

No one wants their phone dying in the middle of a good jam session, let alone their phone dying when it is the only source of directions.

6. Travel games

To help cut down on the boredom level that a road trip can reach, have some fun games up your sleeve to pull out when boredom strikes.

7. The not so obvious... Toilet paper

There's nothing worse than going to a rest stop and realizing there's no toilet paper or even worse when you're driving and have a bathroom emergency but the next rest stop isn't for another 50 miles.

8. Another not so obvious: a garbage bag (or multiple)

Trash accumulates rather fast when you're in a car with 2-5 other people. Also, you want to have some trash bags on hand just in case someone gets carsick.

9. A good book or two

For when your travel companions become just a little bit too much to handle and you want some "you time".

10. Spare money

So you can buy random novelties from places for your friends and family back home!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
