Everyone has this life they dream of, a future that they think they want, or all these checkmarks they want to accomplish before the end of their time here. The funny thing is, that life isn’t reality. It’s a dream that most people don’t reach. Things change, stuff happens, it’s a sister life that is one that we wanted but not the one that we need.

This is the hardest part… realizing and accepting that life doesn’t always go to plan, there are obstacles that are hard to face and people that you once saw as the world and realize that they aren’t the person you thought. It's called life. It's hard, it's stressful, it's confusing but damn it is amazing.

Everyone knows that life can change in a matter of seconds, one person can walk into your life and make you realize that all the nonsense before them was worth it and that what you want and what you need in life will not always match up.

You will be faced with a new challenge every day but one of the greatest pieces of advice I have gotten is when you are struggling with your own problems, go help others with theirs, it makes you step outside your world and see your problems smaller than you did before. Without struggle, there is no reward. Without struggle, there wouldn’t be a day that you can stand there and say you made it. Without struggle, there wouldn’t be happiness.

With one door that closes there will at least, be a window that opens upstairs. You might not be given a ladder to get out that window but you will at least, be given all the supplies to make your own. It is ultimately up to you what you are going to do with that supplies, take initiative and make something from nothing or wait for someone else to come and do it for you.

Ultimately, there are going to be several windows that are opened that we don’t even realize, this usually happens when something or someone is clouding our vision. It will take awhile to realize what and who they are but when you do, rid them of your life. They are only hurting, not helping. On the other hand, there will be things that happen and people that least expectedly come into your life that make you realize what path you are supposed to take, not the one that you wanted to take.

Just remember that ultimately, everything happens for a reason. Good, bad, things that don’t make sense and things that you just know were supposed to happen. Each person that has been, still is or you haven’t met yet comes into your life for a purpose. Some of these people will make your life harder, some will be people you want in your life but they aren’t supposed to be there and some will come into your life and change everything forever.

Each new sunrise and sunset isn’t given to everyone, every great person you meet will not have the same impact to the person that meets them next and every great moment requires so many struggles before it. Keep fighting every day, for that moment that you can stand there and honestly say you made it.

Epic Creation Myths: Norse Origins Unveiled

What happened in the beginning, and how the heavens were set in motion.

The Norse Creation Myth

Now, I have the everlasting joy of explaining the Norse creation myth. To be honest, it can be a bit kooky, so talking about it is always fun. The entire cosmos is included in this creation myth, not just the earth but the sun and the moon as well. This will be a short retelling, a summary of the creation myth, somewhat like I did with Hermod's ride to Hel.

8tracks radio

We all scroll through the radio stations in the car every once in a while, whether its because we lost signal to our favorite one or we are just bored with the same ol' songs every day. You know when you're going through and you hear a song where you're just like "I forgot this existed!" and before you know it, you're singing every word? Yeah, me too. Like, 95% of the time. If you're like me and LOVE some good throwback music, here's a list of songs from every genre that have gotten lost in time, but never truly forgotten.

beer on the beach

Summer is hot and humid, and it's almost like summer was made specifically to drink the refreshing, cold, crisp wonderful, delicious, nutritious nectar of the gods. Which is none other than beer; wonderful cold beer. With summer playing peek-a-boo around the corner while we finish up this semester, it's time to discuss the only important part of summer. And if you haven't already guessed, it's beer. There are few things I take more seriously than my beer, in order are: sports... and beer. Here are my favorite summer brews:
