In solitude, If only solace came to me
Is it any wonder that what
we see or seem is but a dream within a dream? (Poe 10-11)
Each pray’r accepted and each wish resign’d (Pope 212)
Is this the intended design?
It’s simply in our nature
To compromise our nomenclature
It’s a shame but you’re still haunting me
I’m a product of my own hypocrisy
I still remember everything we’ve said
Will I ever break the bread?
In my solitude, these things all return to me
And I wonder if
all that we see or seem but a dream within a dream (Poe 10-11)
How dare you speak your name
Expect me to surrender my claim
Primordial are the things I wish would leave
Sickened by exclaimed diplomacy
The things we see and seem are but dreams of a dream (Poe 10-11)
Each pray’r accepted and each wish resign’d (Pope 212)
Understand this nature’s cruel design
