I Could Eat Breakfast For Breakfast, Lunch, And Dinner And Still Want Breakfast As A Midnight Snack
Madison Foster

When a group is asked what their favorite type of food is, many answer genres like Italian, Mexican, or Chinese. I do love some Greek food, and tacos are my favorite, but you know what's better than tacos? Breakfast tacos. My favorite food genre is simple: breakfast.

Growing up, I used breakfast as a time to think. Most people do a lot of deep thinking in the shower, but most of mine was done at the kitchen table. I would truly only able to drag myself out of bed because of the thought of sitting down in front of my bowl of cereal or plate of toaster waffles. While savoring that first meal of the day, I would think about the tasks ahead of me for that day, and I would memorize the words on the cereal box.

Nowadays, I have widened my options when it comes to breakfast food, and I have yet to find one that I do not enjoy. Quiche, sweet potato pancakes, homemade oatmeal, you name it, and I've probably tried it. It takes me significantly longer than most people to choose between items on a brunch menu because I want to try every option. I usually end up splitting two dishes with someone in order to try two meals as opposed to one.

Not only does breakfast food taste amazing, but it's also so good for you. You've probably heard it before, but breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It provides you with energy to use the rest of the day, therefore improving your metabolism. Many breakfast foods also contain a lot of nutrients your body needs throughout the day.

My breakfast routine is my favorite out of all getting ready activities. I find it so satisfying to make my green tea, craft my breakfast for that day, and take my vitamins (yes, I'm an old lady). No matter what happens during the day, I know that tomorrow is always a new day, and with it, comes the promise and security of my one true love: breakfast.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
