You finally made it.
Years of hard work and perseverance, and now you get to walk across that stage and finally call yourself a graduated man. It's probably bittersweet, scary, and exciting all at the same time. But I want you to know that you have one proud girlfriend.
And while I'm going to miss our synchronized coffee breaks in between classes, I'm so excited to see you excel in life.
Here are five things I want to say to you as you walk across that stage and move your tassel from right to left.
1. You are amazing, and your perseverance inspires me every day
You always tell me that without perseverance, goals never get accomplished, and you're right.
You taught me that in order to reach the most impossible goals, I need to push, even when it gets tough. Your perseverance with your education, your internship, and your work ethic motivate me to work hard and to accomplish my goals, rather than just waiting around for life to happen.
Thank you for inspiring me to work harder than I ever thought I could.
2. You are passionate about your future, and that was ultimately what made me fall in love with you
Without that passion and that fire that you have for your future, it wouldn't have been the same. I found it to be extremely attractive that you had it in your mind that you were going to become a sports broadcaster since day one.
Even when you hear people saying things like "the communication major is a joke" or that "sports broadcasting doesn't make any money," you didn't let that turn you off. You kept going and you kept dreaming bigger and further than all of the stars in the sky.
And I believe you can do it.
3. You have the potential that most people would kill for
Smart, funny, charming, handsome, the list goes on.
You can make your presence known within an instant of being in a large, crowded room, and I admire the way you communicate and connect with people. You can make anyone and everyone laugh until they cry, and you have a sort of comforting air about you that I can't even explain.
You are the nicest person I have ever met, and I am so blessed to have you.
4. Be proud of what you've accomplished
I am so, so, so proud of you and everything that you have accomplished!
Sometimes, you don't give yourself enough credit, when credit is definitely due! The entirety of your college career has consisted of being on the Dean's List, interning at one of Seattle's sports radio stations (which you kicked ass at, by the way), and leaving an impact on the lives of your teachers and your fellow students.
Be proud, you worked hard for this!
5. I have no doubt that you will go far in life, and I am excited to go on this journey with you
I am beyond blessed to have gone on a small portion of this journey with you and I look forward to seeing you change the world one day.
Thank you for allowing me to be by your side as you take on the world and change it for the better.
To you my soon to be graduated boyfriend, the world is now yours - so take it!
I know you're anxious and thrilled to be starting a new journey in this thing called life, but know that I will be there to give you support and endless love. You are loved by so many friends and family and you continue to amaze us with everything that you do.
I am certain you will change the world because you have for sure changed mine for the better.
Now go, face the world head on. I'll be right by your side every step of the way.
