To my love,

Happy anniversary! Time has flown by since our first year of us being together. I guess you can say that the saying is true that times does fly when you are having fun. To think that we have been dating since almost the end of your junior year of high school and nearly the end of my freshmen year in college. It amazes me that it has been 730 days that we have spent together.

The love we have for each other is so different. Not many people get to say that they knew their significant other for the amount of time like we did. Before we started dating, we had known each other for three years and became good friends. I am thankful for those memories we had then and now that we are together. I think the world needs a little love right now and to know that true love indeed exists.

We have had so many countless moments of laughter and happiness and the moments that were not so happy. I just want to let you know that I would not have it any other way. Anniversaries may seem not so much of a big deal to others, but to me, it means so much more. When I think of it, it is another happy year spent with the person I could say I love more than life and another year I still get to call you mine.

The love that you have for me is what pushes me to be a better person, a better girlfriend, and to be a better best friend, to be the successful and determined teacher I have always dreamt to be, and to continue to be myself, even if I am sassy or stubborn. You never fail to put a smile on my face even when I am sad, stressed, or when I am in my moods. Through all of my emotions, you have managed to put up with all of it, and I love you for that.

You are my biggest support system and fan, my guide in life and love, and for being the one that I can always count on. You mean everything to me and so much more, and I hope you never forget that.

I cannot picture myself with anyone else but with you. It has always been you. I cannot wait to see what the future brings us along with many more years to come. Here is to us and here is to the future.

I love you so much!

With so so much love,

Eli

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
