In college, it feels like there is never any free time. FEEL. Keyword here. I feel like I want to be a Kardashian, but I am not. Reality is, you step up above the rest. No matter how much homework you have, how hard your classes are, whatever your excuse is, drop it. Excuses are for people who don't have courage. It takes courage to put yourself out there, to spread yourself thin. Make no excuses, because if you want to do it, you will do whatever it takes to succeed. I work part-time, go to school full-time, I am editor in chief for The Odyssey and I am starting an internship. So yeah, I don't feel for your excuses.

1. Set your goals

What is your end game? Where do you want to be after you graduate or even the end of this semester? What is your big picture?

2. Make your plans

How do you get from point a to point b? If you want an awesome job out of college, what internship are you going to do? What is going to make a killer resume? Get the experience you need to get where you want to go.

3. Stick to it

Once you make that plan, push it. Don't let it sit in your planner for weeks, you turn in that resume or e-mail that company. Show initiative. No one wants some lazy-ass millennial.

4. Make opportunities

Ask companies to shadow. Companies love that. You are taking initiative just to expand your knowledge. You can see the inside of a company and learn so much, for FREE. Reach out. Network with people.

5. Extra-Circulars

Have a full schedule. If you can binge watch a whole season in a day, something isn't adding up. Be productive. Join clubs, campuses have thousands.

6. Don't stop trying

So you didn't get that first internship. There are thousands more. Pick yourself up and keep going. If you just lay there, you are not doing yourself any favors.

7. Take no shit

Screw what everyone else thinks. Do you, honey. Everyone is going to judge you until you prove who you are and don't let anyone else forget it. Show them you are kick-ass and make them wonder how you do it.

8. Be confident

Because no one is going to buy into you if you don't. If you know what you're worth, everyone else will see that too. You not only gain respect, but give yourself a better chance at success if you can be confident.

This is not Annie, but it is a hard-knock life if you don't work for what you want. Get ahead so your future-self can thank you for it. If you work hard now, you can enjoy it later.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
