My favorite thing to do nowadays is curl up with a good book and either a cup of tea or coffee. Reading takes me away from my life. I am not sitting on the couch in my pajamas. I am watching two people meet for the first time or watching a person get sick and die. I could be on planet Mars for all I know as I read and I wouldn't notice.

When you find a great book, it is hard not to get emotionally invested in the plot, characters, even the places that the story is set in. What do I mean by a great book? Most of the time, you don't even notice it is a great book until you cry your heart out or start cheering out loud for the epic love in the story.

There are several ways to read a book in the year 2016. You can either real the actual book from a library or a bookstore. Your phone, tablets, and laptops can access books online where you don't have to worry about bringing the book with you. It will always be with you if you have any of those devices.

I get emotionally invested in books when I can connect to the characters. Characters are what the stories are about so if you don't like them then you won't like the book at all. When you connect with a character, it is like you see yourself in their adventure.

The heroes lets us believe that magic does exist. It brings our imagination out. When the hero defeats the villain, it gives us hope that we can get through the struggles that we have every day.

The plot is another thing that makes me invest in the story. If the character aren't meant to do anything or there isn't a greater evil that the characters can fight, then the story is rather boring. But if there are twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat, makes you want to cry your heart out, or throw a party, then you won't want to put it down for a second.

Sometimes, it isn't always the big things in the books that intrigue me. Maybe the little things that happen in the story entrance you. Like what they eat or what song they dance too.

The places described in books, whether it be real or something the author made up, intrigues me. Because I have only traveled so far in my 21 years and to read about places that I never before make me want to travel even more.

When I find a book that I fall in love with, I tend to buy the book to read over and over whenever I want. It doesn't matter how many times I have read the book. I can probably quote the book in my sleep most of the time. I don't care if the book brings me to tears every time I read it. Sometimes I will have to pause in reading just to blow my nose or wipe tears off my face. But I don't mind because its such a good book.

That is how you can tell you found a good book if it literally brings out your emotions. I'm not saying you have to cry. You can be so happy that you feel like you might puke up rainbows. I have found myself feeling like that as well. That kind of happiness from books, makes you want to find the closest person and tell them what you just read.

Lastly, when you get emotionally invested, you will share the book with everyone you know. You will want to discuss everything with them. You want to share the tears or the laughter with someone.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
