Books Change The World

It's a bug, then an itch, then a book.

It start's with one book really, nothing to big or to small that makes you catch the bug of reading. I caught my bug in fifth grade, don't know how it happened or when, but one day I stay down and started reading Harriet the Spy by Louise Fitzhugh, my reading teacher gave it to me just as a test how much you know book.

I never thought I would fall in love with reading. I sucked at reading as a younger kid like I was really bad and hated the idea of even reading just by myself alone. I am now eighteen and I am a reading fool, I have gone through three Kindles have shelves lined with books and most of the time have my head stuck in a book, really it's a problem.

The point I am trying to make hear is that all it takes is for one book to spark just a little something in, it sparks something in you that you thought you would never have. It's like a bug bite once you start scratching it you can't stop. Books are in escape to the things that are around us, personally I find myself connecting to books more then I find myself connecting to people in the real world.

Go head point and laugh at the girl that had her head stuck in a book, even call me a nerd I don't care. Books are my way of telling the world the I'm shutting down, that I am taking the time that I need in order to make myself feel better. it's a simply thing really since I am a simply girl, I love to read and it could be anything, anything at all.

People say they don't like to read or don't have the time, well i'm calling you out. I understand that use humans live very busy lives that is true, but your telling me that you do not have the time to read a book or heck there are so many things that even let you listen to books and your still do not have time for that. i don't believe it, so this is what I have to say, it's not that you don't have the time of to read or listen to a book, it's because you just haven't found the right book to start reading with. Once you find your book the bug will come and you will be hooked!

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
