On April 7th, in New York City at UFC 223: Khabib Vs Ferguson, the highly-anticipated rematch for the Woman's Strawweight Championship between Former-Strawweight Champ Joanna Jedrzejcyzk and Champion Rose Namajunas will be taking place in the Co-Main Event of the evening. These 2 tremendous ladies first met at UFC 217 back on November 4th, 2017, Rose was looking to become the new Strawweight Queen and Joanna was looking to dismantle Rose, defend her belt for the 6th time, then move up in weight and challenge for another title. But after intense trash talk and Weigh-Ins, they finally squared off in the 1st of 3 spectacular Title Bouts that night.

It was an energy that was incredible and the tension was like no other from an introduction that made the hair stand up on the back of your neck, to the first time Rose knocks down Joanna. Early in the first round, "Thug" Rose drops Joanna, but the self pro-claimed Boogy Woman gets back to her feet as Rose keeps the pressure on with the 2 up against the fence. With space being created between them Rose lands another clean Hook and drops Joanna again. After a few more brutal ground and pound shots, the fight is over.

On commentary, Jon Anik and Joe Rogan are screaming, Daniel Cormier is losing his mind yelling "Thug Rose, Thug Rose, Thug Rose". We have a new Woman's Strawweight Champion "Thug" Rose Namajunas. Rose celebrates with joy with her team and fiancee Pat Barry. Joanna doesn't run from the cage she claps and pays her respects. Even during the Post Event Press Conference, everybody knew a Rematch would be coming right around the corner.

At UFC 223, the Rematch of the Year (So Far) will be going down. as the Event approaches Joanna Jedrzejcyzk is looking to brush that loss off and reclaim what she feels is truly hers, the belt and the spot at the top of the division. She even has stated it happens to the best of everyone, she just did not see the punch coming.

She had a brutal weight-cut that Joanna says affected her performance and just where she was that night. Joanna's weight-cuts are infamously known to be brutal. Joanna says she is returning stronger and better as a few adjustments have been made. She stayed in good spirits and didn't let her first loss shatter her. She also stated she wants to prove Rose is a fluke, that she is the real Queen and she is coming.

Current Champ "Thug" Rose is expecting the fight to have the same outcome, maybe a different way of it happening but the same outcome. She is also very confident she will walk out New York still Champion. She will not allow any of Joanna's trash talk or mind games to bother her just like in the first fight.

With another win over the former champ, Namajunas can really solidify herself as the New Strawweight Queen, as a list of contenders are awaiting a shot at the Champion if she successfully defends her belt. Rose striking is remarkable and she can really make the division her own, she just has one more test, a rematch with the woman she defeated for the crown.
