First and foremost, you should know that I am non-denominational.
When someone says, “I believe in science,” my first thought is, I do too! Newton’s Three Laws of Gravity states…well, you know. Drop an apple, then attempt to relate that distance to the distance between the earth and the sun.
A better way of putting that is: We are here for a reason and we will stay here until that reason is fulfilled.
There has got to be a higher power over us.
I call this “Life.”
Not necessarily literally, like above our world alone, or even above our galaxy or universe, but we are too large for us to be the anomaly. No, personally I don’t believe we’re alone, but will we find someone exactly like us one day? No. While sitting in my freshman biology 1401 course, my professor opened my mind to the universe. Like actually:
This picture she showed the class was our entire universe, then boxed was the our Milky Way galaxy. Then in a smaller box was our sun and solar system, boxed further was our Earth. How many more galaxies have planets exactly like ours? How far are they? Will our technology ever be able to reach them? When the 7 new plants emerged, I became ecstatic.
Finally, planets we could possibly study to see how life is formed. Another thing I learned in that biology course was a theory of how humans became. We study cells because we’re made up of them, carbon molecules that have empathy, kindness and love. Basically, a cell with like characteristics of us just learned to grow stronger as the time progressed, and by time I mean spanning over 4.5 billion years (and probably longer honestly).
Evolution and faith go hand in hand.
Our planet and everything on it has evolved, adapted and learned to become stronger. If we, being weak in religion, call God “Life,” it suddenly makes me understand.
I have faith in myself and in life.
The troubles we face were not put in front of us “to make us learn” or to improve, those troubles come from other people’s lives. Positivity, compassion, love, faith in the good of the world will keep you strong, adapting, and evolving along with the world.
There is no stopping death, but there is nothing stopping you from being the best you that you can be. Yes, this world is hard, but the good guys always win, amirite?
We will never truly know if we are, in fact, the anomaly. If we do, I’ll hopefully be a growing tree from my pod of ashes. You should know I write to Life often. A lot of me believes that even having the littlest of faith in something will potentially take you farther than you’ve ever known.
Matthew 17:20 for all my fellow Christians. Saying that, the Bible has some great points. It applies to any aspect of our life, but it’s also evolved and has been written over a hundred different ways (Just stating a fact). I believe in parts of the Bible, but not all of it as a whole… if that makes any sense. For example, we being humans love unconditionally, what or who we love is up to us.
Believing in anything will ultimately save your life.
Even if it’s in yourself, you will make it somewhere in this world, and you’ll die happy and loved, I promise.
Moral of the story: If you believe in anything, believe in yourself because at the end of the day, the only one who’s truly got you, is you.
