I have been biting my nails since I was a little girl; gross, I know. I thought nothing of it until my dad told me you can get sick from biting your nails. I said how? He told me all of the infections you can get from the gross particles that get under your nails. I was grossed out. I then realized how much harm I could cause myself just from biting my nails. So to this day, I have been trying to come up with ways to stop the biting, and some have worked. Here are some tips to stop the nail biting:

1. Keep your nails short so there is nothing to bite

Don't cut them too short to the point where you have no nails, but cut them at a decent height where they look nice and you have no reason to bite them.

2. Manicures work wonders

Manicures not only look great but you would not want to bite your nails after spending money on a nice manicure! They usually last up to 2 weeks if kept in good shape.

3. Wear bandages or gloves

This can help you get used to not biting your nails until you don't need to wear bandages or gloves anymore.

4. Notice when you are biting your nails and try to stop

When I think about all of the sicknesses I can get from biting my nails, I stop!
