To My Big

I couldn't be happier that I found that person, and that that person is you.

To My Big
Nicole Cantore

Dear Big,

When joining a sorority, I only hoped that I would be able to find my person: the Meredith to my Christina, the Lilo to my Stitch, the Carrie to my Charlotte. The one who I could look up to and count on, and who would love me and support me for all the years to come. I couldn't be happier that I found that person, and that person is you.

From the moment we met, I knew that you were someone who I wanted to be like. Your confidence and determination radiated off of you. As soon as I saw you smiling from ear to ear, it was clear that you were going to be in my life forever. You were so comfortable in your own skin and exemplified what it meant to truly love yourself, which is something that I have struggled with in the past.

I will always remember running through the banner and seeing you on the other side for Big/Little reveal. Hugging you with tears of joy streaming down both of our faces as neither of us wanted to let go is something I will never forget. I couldn't even express how excited I was to call you all mine and to know that, whether you liked it or not, you were stuck with me! For the record, I do hope you like that you are indeed stuck with me.

Your selflessness is unlike any other. From the countless hours spent crafting for me to the days upon days striving to make our chapter the best it could be, you always try to make a difference for others. It takes a special person to be able to impact others the way that you have. You refuse to let anything or anyone bring you down. After all of the hardships that you have been through, you never let your kindness or resilience falter. Your strength inspires me every second and reminds me to appreciate all of the good in my life.

No matter what, you are always there for me and support me. From the IM games to the dance competitions, I am so grateful to have you as my cheerleader in all aspects of my life. I cherish all of those conversations, the serious and the lighthearted; the funny and the sad. I know that I can always count on you to help lead me in the right direction and offer guidance when I have no idea what to do.

I can honestly say that meeting you was one of the best things to ever happen to me. It is hard to put into words what your love and support has meant to me. We have made so many amazing memories, and I can’t wait for all of those to come! With each day that I have you in my life, I become a better person, and for that, I am forever grateful. I can’t wait to go through life with you by my side. I love you to the moon and back.

Thank you for loving me unconditionally. And most importantly, thank you for being my Big.

Love,

Your Little

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
