I attended Saturday’s game against Indiana, cold, snow, and all. Despite the less-than-ideal weather, you still caught me singing Hail to the Victors, chanting “Go Blue!” as loud as I could, and smiling like an idiot at everything. UMich is, and always will be, my happy place.
At that game, I realized once again that the University of Michigan is truly the greatest university in the world, and a big part of that was because of my experience at The Big House.
Here’s why:
The energy at The Big House on game day is unparalleled.
As the players rush from the tunnel and touch the banner, as 110,000 people are surrounding you, screaming, cheering, singing, you realize, even in the chaos, there is nowhere else you'd rather be. UMich is home.
Hearing Seven Nation Army before the game is the most hype thing...ever.
And okay, I'm guilty of dancing. A lot. Sue me.
The Marching Band at The University of Michigan is the best college marching band you'll ever see.
Yesterday I heard them play homage to numerous superheros with their respective theme songs. Guys, you haven't lived until you see the UMich band play the Batman song. You haven't lived. The whole show was amazing.
The cheerleaders keep things fun.
I was amazed at what they were able to do, despite the weather. Crazy stunts in thirty-five degree weather? That takes talent, which UMich cheer possesses, tenfold. Not to mention they were cool enough to make snow angels on the field in the forth quarter. Kudos to you, UMich cheer.
The excitement after a win is unmatched to any other university.
Go Blue! The Team, The Team, The Team, my friends. Hail to the Victors.
Until next season.
