Why Big Families Are The Best Families

There is always someone there for you

Why Big Families Are The Best Families

Coming from a big family teaches you many things in life. When you come from a family with 14 aunts, 13 uncles, and 47 cousins with twins on the way, life has its challenges. Growing up in a big family means there is always someone to talk to but always someone talking about you. A casual family gathering can easily hit over 50 people so there is a lot of people surrounding you.

Even though big families do not always get along, they all mostly love each other deep down. A big family can be the biggest pain in the butt sometimes though. With so many people not everyone always agrees. However, everyone will always agree to help you.

If you are in jail, someone will be there in seconds with your bail money.

If you are having car problems, someone can fix it.

If you are having computer or tv problems, someone can help you.

If you are struggling with a class in school, there is someone who can make sure you get an A.

If you are having a fundraiser, everyone will be there to help you.

If you are hungry, they will never let you starve even if they stare at what is on your plate.

If you need a prom dress, someone will take you shopping or let you wear theirs.

If you need someone to do your hair or makeup, someone will.

If you need to vent about problems, there is always an open ear.

If you ever need a babysitter, there are plenty of them.

A big family gives you endless support even if you're just feeling down.

In a room full of people, it can be easy to get lost in the crowd but there will always be someone there to be with. A big family makes you develop a backbone and learn how to make your voice heard.

You will definitely be hearing your family members voices at your soccer games, baseball games, football games, hockey games (even if they are 1/2 way around the world), dance recitals, honor society inductions, and graduations. A lot of family members means a lot of love. Whether you are in California, Arizona, New York, Maryland, Iowa, Illinois, Pennsylvania or New Jersey, there will always be people rooting for you.

A big family may take a long time to get ready to go to the beach, but they are always ready if you are ever in trouble or upset. A big family gives you your best friends who you could not imagine your life without. A family is people you can be yourself around because they have known you your whole life.

However, by knowing you your whole life, there are no secrets. If one person finds out something about you, the entire family knows within hours…I really don't know how they do that. Even if there is no privacy in a big family, there is lots of love.

Although a big family can absolutely suck and be super annoying sometimes, it is also a blessing in disguise since you always have people there for you and you get to learn so much from them. Big families may be messy and complicated, but big families are the best.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
