With finals week quickly approaching, I think many of you are like me in that you're kind of freaking out a little bit. Well, when I am stressed out, I turn to the comfort of Scripture. Here are a few Bible verses that help me when I get stressed out about finals week:
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you feel trials of many kinds, because you know that testing your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." James 1:2-4
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." John 14:27
“Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed." Proverbs 16:3
“When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul." Psalm 94:19
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." Philippians 4:6
“Cast all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7
“In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps." Proverbs 16:9
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9
and finally, my favorite verse of all time,
“Do not fear for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; through rivers, you shall not be swept away. When you walk through fire, you shall not be burned, nor will the flames consume you. For I, the Lord, am your God, the Holy One of Israel, your savior." Isaiah 43:1-3
