10 Bible Verses That I Always Count On

Whenever I am feeling anything in life, one of my first resorts is to always go to God. Below I have listed 10 of my favorites verses that I love to turn to when I need an extra dose of support.

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you-Psalm 56:3

It's one of the first versus I always seem to remember when I'm in an anxious mood. This alone is just a constant reminder to always trust God no matter what.

An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up-Proverbs 12:25

The way I interpret this verse is that we should always use/show kindness when dealing with not only others fears, but our own too.

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous hand-Isaiah 41:10

Again, I love this verse because it's just a gentle reminder that God is always by our side no matter what. He is there when we are struggling, when we are sad or afraid, and he's even just there during your best moments too.

He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak-Isaiah 40:29

I know that whenever I feel weak, or when I feel like I just can't keep going with something, I know that I can always turn to God, because he will give me the strength to make it through anything.

The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms-Deuteronomy 33:27

God will always be there when we need him, and he wants us to come to him when we need refuge. He will always be the person we go to when we are in need of something.

Be Strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with wherever you go-Joshua 1:9

God will always be with you wherever, whenever, and that's what makes him so great. It doesn't matter where exactly you are or what situation you're in, if you need him, he's there.

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me-Psalm 23:4

Even in my darkest and lowest moments, I know that I can seek god and find comfort in him. Recently this year, I'd gone through some tough and dark times, and during those times I went to God, and no matter what I always found comfort in him.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present yourself to God-Philippians 4:6

God allows us to come to him to talk about our needs and our anxieties. There's absolutely no judgement within God, he will hear you and listen to you no matter how big or small your cries are.

I can do all things through Christ which strengthen me-Philippians 4:13

A constant reminder that with God, anything you want to achieve is possible. Like I said, God is able to give you the strength that you need to get through life.

The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit-Psalm 34:18

While God loves us no matter what we are feeling, he becomes extremely close to us when we have had our heart broken, or when we are grieving. He lets us grieve to him, and he lets us shed every last tear in our body. I take comfort in grieving to God because I know he's listening.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
