It's okay to have rolls. It's okay to have stretch marks. It's okay to have a little gut. It's okay to live in your own skin and be excited about it.
We are constantly trying to change something about our appearance because we don't like how we look in the eyes of others. We are all guilty of trying our best to fit in with society's idea of "perfect." We worry too much about what the person across the room thinks of us versus what we think of ourselves. I ,myself, can say I am so guilty of this.
Before a major lifestyle change, I used to be the "chunky friend" of the group. I would eat anything and everything I wanted without caring. I would buy clothing that was a size too small because I was in denial of getting a bigger size. I would go to the gym maybe once a month or at least the thought would cross my mind. That counts, right? I would stand in the mirror and be disgusted with what I saw. I soon realized I couldn't continue doing this to myself.
At the beginning of this year, I decided to do the cliché thing and start going to the gym more and eating healthier. I can honestly say I couldn't have made a better decision for myself. I feel better, I look better, and most importantly, I started loving my body again. All it took was a little motivation and courage to get me going.
With that being said, don't ever think it is not possible. If you are unhappy in your own skin, then get to work! Work on yourself for yourself. I know quite a few people who aren't comfortable with their appearance, but they won't do anything to better themselves. They believe they can't do it or maybe they just won't do it. It takes a lot of work, but everyone is capable of helping themselves out in some way or another.
If you are comfortable in your own skin, that's great! Keep doing whatever you're doing to stay happy and healthy. Being satisfied with your body is quite rare these days because so many struggle with body confidence. One of the keys to living a happy life is being happy with yourself above all things.
Love yourself no matter what marks or scars are on your body. Those marks and scars do not define you, so don't let them. Don't let the thoughts and opinions of other people affect you. Do whatever you please in life. If you are wanting to make the lifestyle change, take this as your sign and start today. Life is what you make of it, so make it a great one!
So whether you want to order the fully loaded cheese fries or the kale and spinach salad, do what makes you happy!
