Best And Worst Of The Met Gala 2018

Some stars really hit the nail on the head, others not so much.

One of the most memorable Met Galas yet, 2018's theme, "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination," brought some of the best and some of the worst looks we have seen yet.

Best

1. Rihanna

I think she looked absolutely stunning. I think the pope hat may have been a little much and a little controversial for some individuals, but overall, she is stunning. And there is no controversy in that.

2. Blake Lively

These are not in an order of favorite but this is a number one by far. I mean… Come on! Lively is truly a goddess. She is simply so classy and so elegant. This was my absolute favorite look. I wish I could insert 20 pictures here- she deserves it.

3. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

A simple look with elegant beading. She looked absolutely stunning. A simple makeup look with a red lip, additional to the halo-style head piece made for a 10/10 Met Gala look, in my opinion. Another one of my favorites!

4. Kim Kardashian

Though I do understand the theme and realize what she was getting at, the crosses on the dress aren’t my favorite. But besides that, she looked amazing. Her figure, real or not, looked flawless in that dress. Gold absolutely suits Kim.

5. Amber Valletta

Such a simple, classy look. Valletta went against the norm of the ballgown with a long train and looked absolutely perfect doing so.

6. Chadwick Boseman

He looks amazing?! With the gold contrasts on the all white outfit, I think Chadwick absolutely perfected this look.

Worst

These ones come with less to say, naturally.

1. Frances McDormand

Just… What? Do you think she had trouble seeing all night?

2. Miley Cyrus

I am not here to say anything wrong about Miley, I think she looked absolutely beautiful, but I also think she could’ve done more in comparison to what others did in honor to the theme. But again, she did look stunning.

3. Rooney Mara

I mean, the dress looks like it was made from old bedding. Maybe this is classy and elegant, but it wasn’t a hit for me.

4. Madonna

I’m sorry, but she looks SCARY. Madonna looks like she came straight out of a horror film.

5. Amal Clooney

I absolutely love the style and idea of the dress. But that pattern? Not a fan. I think it looks old and vintage, in a bad way.

6. Sasha Lane

There are no words for this one.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
