Drama never stops, it’s there in kindergarten because you’re coloring with someone else’s crayon and it’s there when you’re 35 working late nights at the office having rumors spread about you when all you’re trying to do is get your job done. If one thing is consistent about all life periods it’s the fact that if you’re not careful you’ll be swooped into and drowned in all sorts of crap that you thought would be over in high school. Here are 5 ways to avoid it all.

1. Don't involve yourself with the drama makers.

I know sometimes it’s hard and they can be really sneaky sometimes, shedding skins like snakes and remaking themselves for everyone they meet, but don’t do the things that they urge you to do just so they can cause drama and point the attention on themselves…. Like just don’t.

2. Don't talk/tweet/Facebook/blog about the drama.

Look I know we all read it, and honestly, some of it is so entertaining, but by talking about it, or sharing it on some form of social media you open up a door to be attacked by the people involved. The best armor for avoiding these attacks is simply not giving the words to throw back at you like swords.

3. If someone tries to start drama with you, be the bigger person and don't retaliate.

Sometimes it’s hard to take the higher road, but just remember if they’re starting drama they want you to sink to their level and you don’t want to do that. Keep your head high and be the bigger person.

4. Don't let what they say get you down.

People talk crap if they’re jealous or needy for attention. They’ll try to make you feel bad and bring the opinions others have on you down, but it’s all for themselves, they’re the ones who want the attention, and by not getting down and letting what they say affect you, you’ll shock them to the point they might actually stop.

5. Cut the people who start drama out of your life.

It might be hard but in the long run chopping ties with that friend or whoever it is that is always swimming in drama you’ll save yourself a lot of trouble. You can find better people than that, people who will lift you up instead of bringing you down. Look for those people as friends to fill the spots of the ones who filled your life with the drama and start fresh.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
