Thanksgiving is right around the corner and I'm so excited because I get to see these seven delicious foods on the table together once again.
Green Bean Casserole
I used to hate green bean casserole until I actually tried some and now I'm in love with it. That creamy inside with that firm, breadcrumb topping. Just chef kisses all around.
Macaroni and Cheese
A classic, but it's so much better on Thanksgiving. I'm always going back for seconds, thirds, and sometimes even fourths. As long as there's macaroni in a dish I'm going to keep running back to the kitchen.
Hawaiian Rolls
Not necessarily a homemade staple in my house, but delicious all the same. The bread is so sweet and fluffy. My family will fight over the little rolls of joy. I dare say that Hawaiian rolls cause more bad feelings amongst us than Uno does and that game gets us pretty riled up.
Stuffing
I only get stuffing once a year and that's on Thanksgiving, so it's exclusive. I'm aware that stuffing can be a very controversial food. You either love it or hate it. I love it. I'm not quite sure what it is about stuffing, but it's just perfect, especially when paired with turkey.
Deviled Eggs
Contrary to the stuffing, deviled eggs are almost always at my family gatherings and my family knows just how to make them. If you don't have at least two on your plate before you leave the kitchen, we'll make you go back and get a second one because there's always so many.
Sweet Potatoes
Sure, there are mashed potatoes, but sweet potatoes are where it's at. Sprinkle some brown sugar over them suckers and you'll fall in love immediately. Plus, they're a healthier alternative to regular potatoes so you don't feel too guilty about eating so many of them once you're addicted.
Pie
Pumpkin pie, key lime pie, apple pie, chocolate pie. Literally any type of pie at all will have me drooling and barely able to wait for desert. Apple pie is my personal favorite. The warm, sticky, sweet filling with a perfectly browned crust, topped with a glob of cold ice cream. That's heaven right there.
Honey Baked Ham
Turkey's overrated. In fact, it trembles in the wake of the great honey baked ham. I'm not saying that turkey is bad, but the thin slices of juicy sweet ham are too delicious to pass up for anything else.
