With Thanksgiving in a few days, I think we often take for granted all that our moms do for us.
We forget that they carried us for nine months and spent hours delivering us.
We forget that they stayed up all night when we wouldn't stop crying.
We forget that they make sure we have everything we need.
We forget that they put up with all the crap we give them.
I was lucky enough to grow up with an amazing mom. With two young children, she battled breast cancer. I have some memories of those times, but I will never understand what it was like for her. How she raised me and my sister during the fight of her life is beyond me.
She's my warrior.
There was a period of time where talking to my mom was just not "cool." Now, there's not a day that goes by that I don't talk to my mom.
My mom's the one who swears with me. My mom's the one who will flip me off right back as we laugh at each other. I guess it's only fitting that "our" song is Raise Your Glass by Pink.
My mom's also the one who dries my tears and puts up with my sass 24/7. My mom's also the one I can go to when I need someone to talk to, to laugh with, to dance with, to sing with, to cry with, and to shop with.
She's far from perfect, but she loves me with all of her heart. I wouldn't trade my mom for the world. Everyone says they have the best mom, but I have the best mom in the whole wide world.
I love you lots, mama, forever and always!
I'll bet dad anything that you're about to pick up the phone and call me!
Talk soon,
xoxo
