When you get older adding things to your Christmas list becomes a bigger deal because you need to be smart about the choices you make, with regard to usage and durability. As a college student, I thought long and hard about what I wanted because I began to understand the importance of quality over quantity.
1. Sneakers
Personally, this is the best gift you could ask for. I wear some form of sneakers literally every single day to class. I try to reserve one pair for going to classes and one pair for going out with friends. For the night time, I recommend cheap sneakers that you can trash and get dirty. However, the ones you wear every day to class, you can splurge a little.
You want them to be comfortable because college has a lot of walking. No matter what a pair of nice sneakers that will last a long time, is always the perfect go-to gift. My personal recommendations are (but not limited to): Nike Air Force 1, Vans, Converse, Adidas. Ask a family member for some sneakers and I promise you will get great use out of them.
2. Jewelry
Really any kind of jewelry will do, but this is a great gift. I have bought cheap gold jewelry from Forever 21, Windsor, and H&M and all of the pieces have rusted and made my skin green. Eeek! If there's one thing to spend money on, that you know you will have for a long time, it's jewelry. It's something that is personal and every day you can think of the person that bought it for you. It's worth it to spend the extra money so that you can have jewelry that lasts.
3. Basic Black Leggings
Ok, we are going back to the basics. This is something that every girl should have. Yes, they are great in college, but they work for everyone. You can wear them working out or on a lazy day when jeans are just too much work to get on. They are the perfect go-to for every situation. If you want these pants to be long-term, I recommend buying Lululemon. Although, it's pricey, coming from a girl who wears mine almost every day, it's worth it.
