No matter how hard you try or how many times a day you clean them off, glasses always seem to end up covered in a collection of... stuff. To people who have never worn glasses, all of the stuff might just seem like smudges and dirt, but anyone who has worn glasses knows what all that "stuff" usually is...and knows that all the stuff is annoying and is torture for the people who already have a hard time seeing.
1. Fingerprints
Even if you never touch your glasses, there are always fingerprints on them. They're probably from the times when other people touch them or beg you to wear them.
2. Water
Between raindrops falling directly onto your face or tears (don't judge) water always seems to find its way onto your glasses. And then, when you try to wipe it off, it just smears the water all over them.
3. Mascara
If you don't wait for your mascara to dry (and let's be real here, who does?) wet mascara likes to stick to your glasses. And if you don't know what it is at first, you start to think your vision is really starting to go.
4. Foundation
It just didn't feel right clumping all the makeup together because mascara and foundation causes two very different glasses problems. Foundation covers the bottom of your glasses (only if they're big enough) whenever you smile, or move your face at all.5. Lint
This may come from wiping your glasses off with your shirt (don't yell at me, I know you're not supposed to do that) or just from walking through a particularly dusty room, but no matter what, it never really wants to come off.6. Sweat
This is another one that may only count if your glasses are big enough, but sweat is somehow worse than water, because it dries before you really get the chance to wipe it off most of the time, leaving little sweat stains on your glasses.7. Eye boogers
How these find their way onto my glasses I will never know, but boy, are those gross.8. Dirt
Walk outside for two seconds on a slightly windy day and it seems like an entire pile of dirt gets blown onto your glasses.9. Little scratches
These are caused by almost all of the above being on our glasses and then us wiping them off and scratching the glass, but also some of them just appear out of nowhere (thanks to the little fairy that flies around and likes to scratch glasses.)You could wipe them off every five minutes, or try to avoid anything touching them, or use your hands at all times to shield your glasses, but they will still get dirty. They'll get dirty about five minutes after you clean them off. Maybe it's time to switch to contacts, but who really wants to stick their finger in their eye everyday? Maybe I'll just stay blind.
