Leslie Knope, from the great TV sitcom “Parks and Recreation,” was on to something when she thought of Galentine’s Day as an important celebration. Now a very popular term, “Galentine’s Day” is all about being with your girls, indulging yourselves in every guilt pleasure possible, and just loving the close friends you surround yourself with throughout the rest of the year.

Here’s some great reasons why Galentine’s Day is the best holiday of the year- or at least better than Valentine’s Day.

1. You have another excuse to spend the day with your girls.

2. You can indulge in all of the junk food.

3. And drink all of the wine.

4. You can go to a fancy restaurant.

5. Or order takeout in the dorm.

6. You can pamper yourselves with facemasks and manicures.

7. Or have deep conversations about any topic in the world.

Because nothing is off limits with your BFFs.

8. The night will be filled with nonstop laughter- and no awkward silences.

9. There’s no stress about picking the right outfit or saying the right thing.

10. No matter what you do, you know it’ll be fun because you’re with your ladies!

11. Because what’s more fun than celebrating with your best friends?!

It’s hard to argue against the facts because let’s be honest, boys come and go. But your girls will be around for life.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday.
