This is monumental.

I look forward to the summer days at the beach and the cold nights when I won't have to take the bus home from work. I wish you safe travels and a companion, hopefully me, wherever you go. I want you to explore the world one step at a time and I want you to do it at your free will. I believe that driving is a lot of following the rules, but the rules never tell you where to go.

Your life has practically just begun. By the time you read this, you'll be older than you were when I wrote it. Isn't that a concept? Getting older and having milestones right before my eyes. It's something crazy to have your best friend driving before you, especially when he's two years younger, but I suppose that's our dynamic. You will find things in this journey of life, using your car or not, and I hope that I can be alongside you to make the discovery too.

It's in your nature to explore, but it is also in your nature to hold onto things that have become your home. Try your best not to spend time going in circles when you can expand your horizons. Take your time in making amends with what cannot be, but not before you try to patch it up. Closing the door can become closure, refilling the gas can send power throughout your soul, an air freshener can send aromatic good thoughts to your brain.

Adventure awaits you two blocks away and two states away. Time will never hold you back if you don't let it. Find yourself doing the strangest of things at the most random times. I truly hope to see us getting bubble tea and Tex Mex at midnight in the future. I cannot stress enough that you should have an equal balance of time to yourself and time with others.

In your time alone you will gain a level of introspection only late night drives blasting Sia can get you. At the same time, coming home from the beach and watching your friends sing LMFAO in the back seat through the rearview mirror is something that could possibly change your life. Make your driving experience uniquely your own, yet leave room to make memories.

I cannot wait to make memories with you.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
