As first-person shooters have gained traction over the past few years, people often forget the games that got them interested in the shooter genre in the first place. It's time to take a trip down memory lane and look at some of the FPS classics!

Call Of Duty: World at War

If you were into first-person shooters and you owned the original Nintendo DS, this was your go-to game. From the first real zombie survival mode to the endless list of glitches that friends could take advantage of together, "Call Of Duty: World at War" was most 18-22-year-olds' introduction to shooter games and therefore comes with a sense of nostalgia.

Halo Reach

"Halo Reach" set itself aside from every other Halo game with its sophisticated Forge mode which included endless opportunities for building your own world, as well as game modes such as "Grifball," a capture-the-flag-type game involving only melee weapons and a metal ball. Halo is one of few successful FPS games that incorporates an alien genre into a mainstream shooter and certainly belonged on this list.

Titanfall

Wallrunning. Human-controlled shooting bots. Futuristic warfare. These are the three things that "Titanfall" brought to the table when the FPS game came out in 2014. Fans of "Titanfall" enjoy its fast pace compared to other shooter games, as well as the new concept guns and tactical weapons that the developers included in the combat. "Titanfall" was a revolution in first person shooters and is still popular four years after its release.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

What could be described as the most revolutionary game in the iconic Call Of Duty series, "Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" set the standard for every FPS game that followed. With a collection of perfectly designed maps (and the most famous one vs. one map of all time: "Rust"), a class creation feature that blew all previous class customizations out of the water, and the Intervention sniper that remains the most satisfying virtual gun to shoot, "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" was the game that every preteen male from 5 years ago threw into his Xbox when his friends came over for the afternoon.

Borderlands 2

As a game that should've been categorized as "adventure" instead of "shooter," "Borderlands 2" perfectly combined a role-playing genre with the classic holding-the-gun feeling that every FPS fan loves. Additionally, the comic-like graphics in "Borderlands 2" add to the creativity in the game's development and truly makes the game much more exciting to play. This is definitely one of those games whose campaign put you on the edge of your seat.

Fallout 3

With one of the most riveting and customizable storylines, "Fallout 3" was a revolution in exploratory first-person shooters. The game takes place in the future and it's easy to tell how much care the developers put into creating the world in which the game takes place. From thousands of weapon and armor combinations to hidden weapons all around the world, you could play this campaign hundreds of times and do it differently each time.

Goldeneye 007

"Goldeneye 007" is one of the most classic FPS games of all time. Most older gamers remember playing this on their GameBoy or their Nintendo DS, and although it doesn't compare to modern first-person shooters in terms of graphics or gameplay, it certainly deserves a spot on this list due to its success and establishment of the original "gamer."

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
