Summer time is snow cone season.

With summer being in full swing here in Lubbock I have noticed that people are working closer and closer to meet certain personal health and fitness goals. Some are trying to find the perfect workout or diet to get that summer body fine tuned. While most are finding the perfect kale to smoothie ratio I will be indulging in the finer things in life. These are the 10 foods I WILL NOT be giving up this summer.

1. Coffee.

Give me the biggest, meanest, sweetest cup of Joe you have Starbucks. If I am going to drink a gourmet coffee, I might as well rake in all the calories.

2. Queso.

A Tex-Mex staple. Give me all the cheesy goodness this summer. Throw out the kale chips and hand over the corn chips.

3. Donuts.

What better companion to your coffee than a fried piece of dough covered in sugar?

4. Chocolate.

Any and every type. I LOVE Chocolate.

5. Fried Chicken.

I love any type of chicken but fried chicken happens to be my weakness.

6. French Fries.

Whats my favorite kind of fry? Well, french fries of course! These guys will be sticking around this summer.

7. Steak.

I love me a good steak. Be like Ron Swanson and indulge in that red meat this summer.

8. Snow Cones.

The summertime is snow cone season- end of story. With Lubbock being the birthplace of Bahama Bucks how could I turn a snow cone down?

9. Ice Cream.

I love this sweet treat on a hot summers day. How could I possibly say no?

10. Watermelon.

Yes this may be a fruit but it still contains a whole lot of sugar. Watermelon is a summer staple. What else would I be eating on the 4th of July?

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
