Father's Day is this weekend and what better way to celebrate our dads than taking time to appreciate their sense of humor? Dads have a unique sense of humor that mostly includes telling jokes that are so bad you really can't help but laugh. Here's a collection of great dad jokes and dad moments that remind us why we love them while simultaneously making us question why we let them talk to anyone we don't want to be embarrassed in front of.
1. The Classic
This is a joke every dad has made and every child has found themselves at the other end of. It's inescapable.
2. Emails and Neighbors
Once when my dad was headed to the store and my siblings and I were all asking him a million questions he told us he better not get an emails from us on his way out. Why he thought his kids would email him questions as opposed to text or call, I don't know.

4. The Other Classic
This isn't the first joke you think of when you hear the words "dad joke," but it is the second. Almost every dad has made this joke to their kids and it almost always resulted in an eye roll from the child who just wanted a sandwich.
5. Cooking
Dads always seem to take everything too literally. They then think it is funny to try to turn that into a joke. If a menu says it's cooked to perfection, dads want it cooked to perfection. When I was telling my dad about the book, Looking for Alaska, I explained that Alaska was the name of one of the characters. He immediately told me he should've named me New Mexico.
I think it's also a dad thing to just flip through channels on TV until he finds a movie to watch, regardless of it's in the middle or not, and then change the channel at the commercial so he doesn't have to watch commercials.
6. Obama
Not even the President of the United States can escape dad jokes. If you're a dad, you can't resist making dad jokes at every opportunity.
7. Shoes
My dad always told me this joke but in the form of eyes.
"Dad, there's something in my eye," I would complain, rubbing my eye, of course.
"It's a finger," he'd always respond. Useless when my eye is hurting because an eyelash fell in it, but funny, to him.
8. When
This is my dad's favorite joke that I was told he learned from his dad. This dad joke has been passed down through the family. When my dad is pouring, for example, a glass of milk for me, he'll tell me "say when," so he'll know when he's poured as much as I want. When there's enough milk in the glass I'll say "okay," "that's good," or "stop," and he'll keep pouring, He doesn't stop until I say "when". The glass has overflowed before.
9. Moths
Why do dads find it funny to turn their child's mild fears into jokes? Who knows. At least they don't turn things that are too serious into jokes. Usually.
10. Cliff
Another great thing about dads is that when they take golden opportunities like these and turn them into great jokes, they don't even seem impressed with themselves. My dad's name is Chuck and I'm pretty sure I've heard him ask us not to eat him when we tell him we're having chuck roast.
11. Utilize What They Have
If there is one thing dads do best it is making the best out of what they have. Never worry, dads will always find a way to make anything work.
