If there is anything I can be doing to make my life easier you know I'm doing it. One of those things is installing apps on my Google Chrome browser. Just a few clicks and bam everything you could ever want is accessible. Here are a few apps that I cannot live without.
1. Grammarly
Grammarly should sponsor me already! I recommend this app to everyone I know. Grammarly is a spelling and grammar editor for your web browser, which means it works for emails and Odyssey articles! Anything Grammarly doesn't like it will underline with red, click that red underline and it will offer you a suggestion to fix it, the ability to add it to the dictionary and to ignore. You can also open up another window and Grammarly will explain why it was highlighted.
2. Honey
As an avid internet shopper, I can honestly say that Honey has improved my life. Honey searches the web to give you discount codes for whatever site you are on. I've used it for Amazon, Urban Outfitters, Forever 21, you name it. They may not always find you a code, but either way, it saves you the trouble of looking.
3. Cite this for Me: Web Citer
I don't know if this is just because I am abroad, or if EasyBib has just gone downhill, but it's so slow not it's basically impossible to use. Just click the icon in the top right of your browser and Cite This for Me will cite whatever webpage you are on in APA, Chicago, Harvard or MLA format, whatever you need.
4. Power Thesaurus
I'm not good at English, so I frequently find myself looking for an alternative to words like good, things and more. Simply highlight the lame word, click the bubble that pops up, and bam, Power Thesaurus will instantly offer you synonyms and antonyms. Not happy with what shows up? Click view all to see about 2,000 suggestions.
5. Sidenotes
I frequently find myself trying to fit a word document and my chrome tabs on the same screen and failing. Sidenotes pulls up a blank notepad alongside any website so you don't have to struggle with this. Any notes taken will be saved to Dropbox for easy access later on.
