Benefits
Tastes Good
When it comes to drinking coffee, most people tend to like the flavor. There are many different kinds of coffee that satisfy a consumer's preferences. Coffee can be drunk either black or creamed. With black coffee, the drink tends to be bitter and the creamed coffee sweeter, based on a consumer's desired flavor.
Gives Energy
Most brands of coffee contain caffeine. According to a university counselor, decaffeinated coffee is not free of caffeine. Though there is much less, there is still a percentage of caffeine inside the coffee beans that are unable to be extracted. Caffeine is a huge part of providing energy through coffee. Because of this, people who drink coffee tend to be more alert and engaged in everyday activities.
Neutralizes Odors
Odors can be a huge problem in a home that has pets, mold, or even stinky laundry. Using a cup of coffee beans can help destroy that scent. Coffee beans have a strong smell and are able to absorb other disgusting scents. This means if someone was to choose to use coffee beans to get rid of bad stench; DO NOT USE THE COFFEE BEANS AFTER. They will literally be consuming the odor that needed to be desensitized.
Warmth is Provided
Coffee is a great drink for a source of heat. Some people like to hold the coffee to their faces to feel the moisture from the steam. According to a college nurse, the warmth from the coffee tends to give her happiness and a drive to get her day started.
Disadvantages
Addictive
Many people who drink coffee usually become so acquainted with the beverage that they need to consume it every day. Coffee becomes a crutch to where it people depend on it in order to do an everyday task. Some people get really irritated and drained out when they try to stop drinking it. They become less engaged in what they are doing and even show a lack of performance. It is unhealthy to just stop consuming coffee cold turkey. It requires lots of time and restraint to slowly quit drinking coffee.
Not Best Consumed at Night
People who drink coffee constantly may want to have a cup at night. This is not a great decision. As stated earlier, coffee contains caffeine that helps a person stay awake. If someone who loves the taste of coffee wants to drink it at night, they will be unable to sleep. In return, they will drink even more coffee in the morning to “fix” the harmful effects from the night.
Unable to Be Consumed by Pregnant Women
According to a secretary at a college university, Coffee is to not be drunk by a female who is pregnant because it can lead to possible miscarriages in the first few trimesters. It may also make a pregnant person feel ill. Not being able to drink coffee while pregnant puts a toll on their everyday lives.
Increases Heart Rates
Because coffee has caffeine, a person’s heart rate can increase depending on the amount of coffee consumed. This is unhealthy for any person and could lead to an emergency room visit. Drinking coffee requires a lot of responsibility to prevent heart issues. If a person is modest in their consumption, then their heart rate should be an average of 60-100 beats per minute.
