Don't Ever Say You're Sorry For Who You Are

Being you is something special. It is something different. It is something unique. And that is one thing you should never apologize for. Don't ever say you're sorry for being who you are. Being you is a one-of-a-kind thing. There is no other you. Nobody else can be just like you. Nobody can act like you. Nobody can talk like you. Nobody can laugh like you. Nobody can tell jokes like you. Nobody can cry like you. Nobody can live the life you live. You are one-of-a-kind. And there is no other just like you.

Don't ever say you're sorry for who you are. Being you is unique. It's something you should be proud of. It's something that you should never be ashamed of. You may make mistakes. You may say stupid things. You may behave in idiotic ways at times. You may act like a fool on more than one occasion. But being you is what makes you special. It is what makes you different. It is what makes you stand out in a crowd. There won't ever be another you. There won't be someone that is just like you. There won't be someone remembered as you except you long after you're gone.

Being you is something that you should be proud of. Look at yourself in the mirror, smile, and say, "I'm glad I'm me," even if on some days you really aren't. Because you should take pride in the fact there is no other you. Nobody else can replace you. Nobody else can be you. Nobody else will ever laugh like you. Nobody else will ever be you.

Being you is something that nobody else can take the place of. Don't ever say you're sorry for being who you are. It's who you are. You were made in a special way. You were created differently from your brother, sister, neighbor, cousin, mom, dad or anyone else that comes to mind. You were created differently from your significant other, from your crazy co-worker and you were created differently from me. You aren't me. I"m not you. You are you. And being you is something that nobody else can replace.

Don't ever say you're sorry for being who you are. People can either accept you for who God made you, accept you for who you are, or they can turn around, walk away, and go fuck themselves.

There is no other me. There is no other you. There is just one you. You are who it is. There is no one that can make you something or someone you're not. And people need to accept that. You were made to be the person you are. You are different from all the rest. You are unique. You are special. You are one-of-a-kind. And nobody or nothing can replace that, change that, or fix that. Nobody can make that into something that it's not. You are you. And you should be proud of that.

Being you is something that nobody else can change. Don't ever say you're sorry for being who you are.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
