June 16, 2017- a new addition was added to my family. I, personally, adopted a four month old kitten. Her name is Harley Jynx. She's a calico kitten with a huge personality. Within the almost two months, I've had her she's kind of turned my world upside down.
She was at the local Petsmart thanks to Southside Animal Shelter. She and her two siblings had been found at in the wild and had been taken in. I knew the moment I saw her there was something I liked about her. She came right up to the glass to see me, even trying to play with me through the glass. After a lot of begging, I finally convinced my family that I wanted her. It was too late to adopted her that night sadly.
The next morning though I got there as soon as the adoption part of the store was open. The moment I held her I knew Harley needed to come home with me. Though she was described as skittish, she came right to me.
That terrified skittish kitten is now a thing of the past. Harley Jynx pretty much is convinced she runs this house. Her antics never fail to make me laugh and smile. She loves being around people and being loved on. She's nothing like she was when she was still waiting to be adopted.
She's the most curious kitten I've ever seen. She fears nothing. One of her favorite things to do currently is catch flies around the house. I've seen her land a backflip because she wanted the fly so badly. She's not afraid to tell me when she doesn't like something. I tried to put a harness on her, so we could start taking walks. She simply flopped on the ground and refused to move.
It's nice having her around in all honesty. She makes my days just a little better. She loves taking naps with me and cuddling up next to me. She runs towards the door when she hears me come in. She doesn't really like to ever leave me alone. She keeps me calm and has been great for my anxiety. My entire family has fallen in love with her and it is not hard to see why.
