What It Means To Be An Overcomer
Kurld

Recently, I’ve had to overcome a lot of things. I had to overcome leaving my comfort zone. I had to overcome meeting new people and making new friends. I had to overcome a few bad test scores and learn that long term, they don't matter.

Being an overcomer means that you have conquered something, you have achieved something that at one point you never thought you would. Once you have overcome one thing, it's easy to overcome another.

One of the biggest things about being an overcomer is to trust that you will be okay. The hardest thing that I had to overcome really ended up not being that difficult once I was on the right path. I learned that even though it will always be a constant battle, I will still be okay at the end of it.

Sometimes, the things that we have to overcome are things that are a constant in our life. For example, depression or anxiety. Those are not feelings that will disappear overnight, trust me, I wish that was the case. These kinds of things are constant battles, something that people are constantly overcoming every day. It might not be evident that they are facing that battle, but trust me, when you can overcome that feeling a little bit every day, it is one hell of a win in my book.

I was the kind of girl who had it all planned out. I had to overcome the idea that life is not always going to be the way you thought it would be. It is easy to think that life will be perfect and that you won’t have to battle anything. But I hate to break it to you, life definitely doesn’t go that way.

Look, sometimes, you are going to have to conquer little battles and sometimes, you’ll have to overcome some hard shit. Either way, you can do it. You can overcome anything if you put your mind to it.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
