It's that time of the year again.

Summer is gone, and school is no longer just around the corner – it's here. Gone are the days of stress-free sleep and Netflix binges; now we get to worry about deadlines and grades.

Syllabus days, assignments, quizzes and exams are here again to ruin our lives. Will we ever be done with school?

Sometimes, it's easy to feel like a professional student.

Many of us will, at some point or another, consider the pros and cons of dropping out of school. Do we really need that degree to get through life?

Don't despair; you're not alone! Just as Disney was there beside us through our childhoods, it's there for our college years.

1. You're still in denial school is starting.

At this stage, you still believe you'll still be able to sleep or have time for yourself.

2. Then you realize how naive you were.

When it hits you that the school owns your time, you die a little inside.

3. You go to bed early the night before classes start.

You've got to look fresh for the first day! This doesn't last long though.

4. Syllabus day is the best day of the semester.

It's arguably one of the shortest days of the semester (barring class being cancelled).

5. Until the professor decides to start lecturing...

We trust these professors to show a little humanity, and this is what we get in return? Dishonor on all of them!

6. That moment when you make a connection in your class.

You'll stick together to the end...of the semester. Whether it's hating on the professor, studying for exams or doing group projects, you're there for each other.

7. You find the cute guy/girl in your classes.

No matter what you tell yourself, you probably have no actual intention of even saying "hi."

8. The new freshman flood the campus and the food lines.

On one hand, you can appreciate their excitement – you were once in their shoes, after all! On the other hand, you just want some Chick-fil-a before you turn 40.

9. Dealing with financial aid is a complete mess.

If you don't already have enough to worry about, you probably have the Bursar's and Financial Aid office on your back about paying for classes before they drop them. You know, those classes you so painstakingly scheduled months ago?

10. It's OK though because you still have your friends to cheer you up!

After all, they're in college too and know the struggle.

11. That shock you feel when your first assignment is announced.

Here you were, going through life minding your own business and pretending nothing else could go wrong... You were so wrong.

12. It doesn't take you long to start showing up to class in sweats and a T-shirt.

Honestly, who has time to shower, do their make-up, dress up, and make breakfast before an 8 a.m.? Not me!

13. You and your squad decide to spend a night out on the town to avoid the oncoming stress.

When you all go out looking like princesses...

...and come back looking like potatoes. #worthit

14. You finally get into the swing of things...

You finally find your groove, and you're on a high. You've figured out life. Go you!

15. Then mid-term season hits.

You're never as prepared as you think you are.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register.
