Wow. Look how far we’ve come. Not just for “Star vs.” which has proven itself time and time again to be a truly wonderful show, but also for me, who got all caught up on it in no time flat and since then followed along with it on its adventures! So hard to believe that I got myself into this show a whole year ago…and I haven’t regretted it since.

It was on Wednesday, May 15, 2017, the very last day of the Spring 2017 semester when I got myself started on this amazing show. Before then, I was aware of its existence from the reruns on the Disney XD TV schedule and at one time decided to get a little taste of it by watching a rerun of the episode, “Into the Wand” / “Pizza Thing,” the former segment of which gave me a glimpse of as well as had me intrigued with the show’s premise. It was only when I was getting myself into “Steven Universe” as well as fan theory videos under a certain YouTube channel for that show that I stumbled upon fan theory videos for “Star vs.” under the same YouTube channel and decided to give it a go once the semester was over.

Smart decision that ever was!

I was so hooked that it took me up to three whole days for me to watch seasons one and two, all 35 episodes, of the show as well as all the fan theory videos solely under the aforementioned YouTube channel that created this whole chain reaction! I loved it that much: from just the two seasons of the show at that time, I was overly engaged with the story and with the development of the characters, and I was even rocking out with the show’s music!

Luckily for me, I got myself caught up when it was only three months into the hiatus before it returned with the season three premiere of “The Battle for Mewni,” so I only had to wait two months! Season three has been nothing short of amazing for me, definitely the best of the three seasons, and going off of certain comments within fans’ YouTube videos that came out since the finale, easily cementing the perception, as well as mine, of this show as the best American cartoon that is on television as of right now!

Above all though, the main reason why I love this show so much is how much I could relate to it: I understood Star’s pain of having a crush on her nerdy best friend who had a nice girlfriend. I knew what it was like to run out of time… In fact, my confession to my crush was almost exactly like Star’s confession to Marco… well, minus the observing crowd, dire circumstances, delayed reaction, and tearful run-off, but everything else within that scene is an uncanny parallel to me, almost right down to the single revealing line, off by only a word! This show can be freaky to me like that…

Aside from the confession, I understood her struggle in trying to move on from and let that special someone go, at least in the romantic sense, and though things may not work out the way I initially wanted them to for me and my crush, I’m so glad that things are finally working out for Star and Marco: a.k.a. my all-time OTP on TV… Plus, Star and I both have messy family histories, the majority of which we don’t have any knowledge because of so many kept secrets. I am willing to accept the fact that this show and I have been soul-bonded from the get-go because of how intertwined my whole life is within it…

Anyway, I seriously can’t wait for what’s in store for us in season four, and no matter what happens, if there’s confirmation on the rise for a season five or not, this show will always be a shining star in my book as one of my personal favorite cartoons of all time…

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
