Imagine wandering through the wonderful world that we live in being uncomfortable.
You constantly fear the judgment of others and question if what you are doing, wearing, or saying is correct. Now imagine all of those circumstances, but being perfectly okay with it. This latter of the two is the goal we must all strive to achieve, the ability to be comfortable in an uncomfortable situation.
Just the other day, I came across a group of girls at the gym who were afraid to workout on the main floor of the gym, AKA free weights, the so called spooky zone. They insisted to me that they would be judged too much downstairs and would not be able to comfortably workout, therefore they stayed upstairs in their "safe zone." I pleaded to them that this was not the case, as everybody's main goal at the gym is to get fit rather than to pass judgement. My attempts at gaining their trust about the situation, however, were unsuccessful.
The most meaningful thing I ever learned during my days as a high school football player is that it is essential to be comfortable being uncomfortable. This applies to any situation at any given moment, not just times that you are in the gym.
You are you. You are not who somebody wants you to be.
Accept it. Appreciate it. Embrace it.
Focus not on the bad, but instead on the positives. At all times, you are who you are and you should fully understand that and accept that. Nobody needs to change you nor do you have reason to change for anybody else. Embrace yourself, you're a beautiful soul both inside and out. Once you become comfortable in an uncomfortable situation, the things that you will be able to achieve become limitless.
So go out and take those chances, run the risk and overcome failure.
