Don't let anxiety and depression rule your summer. If you suffer from anxiety you know that the chances of it ruining your summer fun is very high. Summer depression is very common amongst college students. When you think about it , you have lived with your friends . When you needed to talk or momentarily escape reality all you had to do was walk down the hallway to greet a friendly face. Now adjustment back home might be a challenge.

First of all, most of your friends from high school have vanished without a trace or you are deliberately dodging their presence. Either way, with your new friends miles away this can be a challenge not to fall in to a lonely mental state. So here are some tips to beat the summertime sadness!

1. Develop a Self Care Regimen

Take this time to put new self care routines in motion. Have regular hair wash days out the week. Pamper yourself to that sugar or coffee scrub you've been secretly dying to try. Hell take a shower without shower shoes for crying out loud!

2. Find a New Hobby

Always wanted to learn how to skateboard or play chess? Well now is the time to learn something new. Complete that task you put out of your head in your elementary years. Revisit your youth and feed your inner kid with happiness.

3. Meet new people

For people with anxiety , new people can sometimes be a problem. Try to meet one new person a month , by the end of the summer you will have acquired 3 new awesome friends!

4. Eliminate Negativity

That relationship that has been weighing on your shoulder or that friend that has been lowkey dragging you under the bus.:CUT IT. Leave them behind. Send texts , saying your farewells as you are utilizing this summer to become a greater, more positive you!

5. Try Contacting Old Friends

Your best friend from the 3rd grade that stuck with you through high school but you guys sincerely lost touch ? Call them! Hit them up on facebook or twitter , saying you wanna meet up sometime. If it was really a true friendship elapsed time shouldn't damage what you two have.

6. Do Something Out of Character

If you are known as anal break out of your box, go skydiving or plan a fun night out. If you are known as extreme do something a little less loud, found an interesting book and see where it goes. Break out of your own personal boundaries.

7.Get a New Piercing or Tattoo

Finally for people with anxiety or depression their can be something that gets you through those tough times. Maybe a spirit animal like and owl or eagle or your favorite picture. Have a tattoo designed that reminds you how far you have came and gives you hope to hold onto in your life. For a little less commitment , look up a new piercing. There are gazillions of piercings your local tattoo and piercing shop can do for you. Go on Pinterest and fall in love with a new piercing may it range from a tragus to a conch piercing explore and have fun!

No matter what happens, remember not to let the summertime blues take hold of your spirit. Have a wonderful summer!

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
