Beachin' it: 5 Reasons Why Salt Water, Sand, And Waves Are Good For Your Soul

As Zac Brown say's " Got my toes in the water, butt in the sand , not a worry in the world".

Lets be honest who doesn't love the beach and having some R&R? I know I love the beach and just being able to unwind and have some fun with friends! Countless of memories are always made and some are worth telling, while others are worth keeping to ourselves.

Last summer some of my friends and I went to Destin for a few days over memorial weekend and that was by far the best. On the car ride down to Destin we sang and danced all together while laughing and talking. Half of the ride was spent sleeping and taking numerous bathroom stops because who can really hold their bladder the whole 6 hours?

One of my favorite memories is way back when my brothers and I were little. We went to the beach in the outer banks not too far out and someone went deep sea fishing. I don't think that was safe but he caught a 6ft shark and my cousin goes is that a shark so my brother of course sarcastically goes , "no thats a dolphin"..... Oh the joys of having brothers and a large family but I love it.

Best Reasons the Beach is good for the soul:

1. Meeting new people.

Best part about going on vacation is meeting new people and hanging out with them if you chose. You always find out some interesting things about them.

2. Unwind and de-stress.

Number one thing about hitting the beach is relieving stress. As soon as you exit your vehicle and step out into the sun, you feel the calming effects wash over you like water. A combination of the sun and water helps you feel the calming effects and you can automatically relax. It's a great feeling to say the least and I wish we could it could be like that 365 days a year.

3. Having Fun.

When in doubt you can't go wrong when you are at the beach and having fun. There are so many activities to do for all ages.

4. Restaurants.

Best thing about the beach is they always have the hot spots right on the sand so you can enjoy a nice view.

5. Playing Sand Soccer or burying people.

Another thing you can't go wrong with is always playing a good game of something on the beach whether its sand soccer, softball, Frisbee, football..... the list goes on.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
