4 Beach Essentials Every Redhead Needs, Because Our Friend's Tanning Oil Just Won't Cut It

As much as I love going to the beach, my skin tends to disagree with me. Being as fair as I am means that I need to take proper steps in order to not look as red as a tomato! So, here are some of the things that I make sure to always bring for beach trips!

1. The first thing, which is pretty obvious, is sunscreen!

Sunscreen is great thing to have because everyone needs some, and yes I mean everyone! Even if one of your friends gets tan, putting on sunscreen can prevent them from all of the UV light and still allow them to get tan.

2. A main thing to never forget with sunscreen to is to reapply.

Reapply when your skin is totally dry and there's not sand covering your body. I learned the hard way that if there is sand where you spray sunscreen, the sunscreen sticks to the sand and does not offer protection.

3. Another great thing to bring to the beach is an umbrella.

Whether it is a huge tent for families to sit under or a one person umbrella, they make a difference. Sitting in the sun all day can drain your body physically and mentally, so instead of that sit under an umbrella and enjoy the cool breeze!

Whenever I bring an umbrella my friends at first think it's silly, but after a couple hours of sunbathing they are begging me to let them lay under it!

4. An easy essential to forget is a reusable cup filled with ice cold water.

As I said earlier, sitting on a hot beach all day can be so draining, so do not forget to hydrate! In addition to this, bringing snacks is always a great idea! You want to make sure that you are taking the best possible care of yourself while still enjoying your day.

Hopefully these tips help. Have fun and use these tips the next time you decide to do a beach day!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
