I don't know about you, but every year I dread February 14th. As soon as sparkly red hearts and pink roses start lining the holiday section of supermarkets, I begin to wonder why people make such a big deal out of some random day in the middle of February. I mean, Valentine's Day is just a ploy for candy companies to make more candy right? Wrong. This year, all my single ladies, Valentine's Day is a day for you to treat yourself.
Take A Road TripĀ
Whether you are by yourself or with a group of friends, a road trip is always fun. Take yourself somewhere you've been wanting to go for the past few months or even pick a random place on the map. Surprise yourself and explore new territory. Spend the day discovering new interests and make experiences on your own. Learn something new and go to a museum or even spend the day at a nature reserve.
Have A Spa Day
I know this is cliche, but I obviously had to include this in here. Book an appointment at the spa or take a nice bath at home to sit back and relax. Take a day to evaluate your personal thoughts and maybe even make plans for later in the week for some things you would like to do like going to a painting class, getting a manicure, or even redecorating your room. Draw a nice, warm bath, put on a mask, and crank up some Netflix. Enjoy yourself.
Try Something New
Whether it's cooking that new dish you saw on Pinterest or seeing a new movie that came out last week, push yourself to try something new. If you want to be really extreme, try something like skydiving or going to an amusement park. Take this day to really explore some new interests. Discover something new about yourself and maybe you will find a new hobby!
Go Shopping
Remember, you are your own Valentine, so you're going to have to buy yourself a present, right? Go shopping and get that necklace you've been wanting or that cute pair of jeans that you saw in a magazine. Go to the mall, look around, and treat yourself to some new things. You deserve it.
Throw A Party
Gather all your single friends, get together some chips and dip, and throw a singles-only party. Let loose, have some fun, and forget about Valentine's Day.
