We are grown up in a world where whenever you have a conflict with someone, there is always "two sides to the story, and then the truth." Therefore we grow up in a world in which is filled with lies and deception; I am not really sure why. When we were little kids, we were always told to tell the truth and to be respectful to everyone. We were always told that lying is shameful to do because no matter what, 99% percent of the time that persons always finds out the cold-hearted truth. It is always beyond hurtful when you are the victim of a lie.

As we get older, life gets more complicated and complex. We are torn with where we want our futures to go. Each day we are pressured and stressed about where we are going to end up. Along with little things like our friends, family, and relationships that also stress us out daily. We are also thrown into this world, with "we do not want to hurt anyone's feelings" and therefore we tend to lie about things we are doing sometimes in order to protect that person. But the thing that blows my mind about this crazy world, is that people lie to the people they care about the most. Why do we do that? That is something that I honestly will never understand.

Our society is constantly drawn to the fact that sometimes it is okay to tell "white lies" in which are little lies: a.k.a will not hurt anyone. That is beyond false. Try being a better person instead. Some things people do not understand is that people think lies cover up for their actions, when in reality people are more hurt when they find out the truth a day or even weeks later. It is more painful when you find out at a later date and that someone that "cares" about you can lie directly to your face. That is the most heart-wrenching pain of all. So some advice is to always tell the truth. In that moment even if it is going to make that person mad in a situation, it will be better in the long run to tell the truth. It shows that you had the courage to tell that person instead of hiding the truth with a lie.

So if your reading this, as a person who lies a lot or if you know someone who lies a lot, try to be better person through honesty. Try something for yourself. I know myself, I am always the person to always tell the truth. I believe it is best to be honest with not only other people, but yourself. Don't hide who you are, because karma will come back at you, when you least expect it. Stay true to yourself and everything falls into place. One should never feel like they have to lie in order to get a job, protect their friends or family, or in life in general. The people who are meant to stay will stay, and that job you are "supposed" to get will happen. Trust me.

Keep this mind... "If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything."-Mark Twain

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
