If you haven’t yet, make sure you find time to go to the nearest Starbucks and order an old-fashioned doughnut, slightly warmed. Also, make a stop by an Athens favorite, Athens Bagel Company. Believe me, you won’t be sorry that you did. Just the other day, I was suffering from a long night prior and I started down at this:
I usually try my very best to watch everything I eat as most girls my age do, but after recent events, this bagel had to happen. The egg whites (healthy attempt), melted cheese and crispy bacon, perfectly sandwiched between two, toasted, jalapeño cheddar bagels is truly like medicine sometimes. This picture, which I promptly made my Snapchat story, was the short-lived cure to my struggling day.
There is a passion in food that is so intriguing; the way it smells and how it all eventually comes together to manifest something that is translated without the need of words. Sadly, today's tendencies, mindless snacking and eating have robbed many of us from actually experiencing it. It’s not even an exaggeration to say you should have a relationship with your food because it does, in small doses of course, change our moods, outlooks and figures.
In a New York Times article, the title boldly stated “What’s Round, Fried and Inspirational?” Of course the answer is a doughnut. Challenge yourself every week to savor your food and let it awaken you to passion or even a healthier life style. I can’t quite put my finger on what makes these carbs so wonderful, but I know for a fact that you shouldn’t let them go to waste.
