13 Reasons Why Going Back to School Is The Most Stressful Thing Ever

I love school. I love learning. Going back to school is just a lot all at once.

School is a stressful time for everyone. Over the past week, I've found myself becoming stressed over little things and I've decided school is definitely one of the most stressful times. During the first week of school, a lot happens in a short period of time, like...

1. Moving In.

It's bad when you're on the third floor with no elevators. And unpacking? Don't get me started...

2. Increase in responsibility.

Everything becomes your responsibility again. Grocery shopping? Cleaning? Laundry? Cooking? It's all yours again!

3. Everyone and their mother is sick.

Someone's coughing and someone's sneezing. Don't mind me while I chug an Emergen-C and eat a whole jar of Vitamin C Gummies.

4. Parking!

Don't you love it when you leave for campus early and end up spending forever trying to find a spot, so you end up to class 20 minutes late?

5. "Please state your name, major, and a fun fact about you!"

I rehearse this in my head over and over. I always say something wrong.

6. Getting back into a routine.

This is my least favorite since you have to figure out how to juggle attending classes, figuring out how much you have to study, when and how often you can work, workout, do housekeeping, etc.…

7. Assignments on assignments on assignments.

I'm already stressing about finals and it's only the first week of school.

8. Having to find new friends in your classes.

Awkwardly asking if anyone's sitting in that seat basically means you're going to be BFFTS (Best Friends for The Semester).

9. New professors, new courses.

It can be stressful figuring out how your professors run their course and what they expect and trying to learn material during the first week.

10. Less free time.

Less time to unwind before stressing out about something school related.

11. Papers!!!

I stress a lot about papers. Everything has to be perfect and in the correct format. God forbid something's formatted wrong…

12. Organization.

I always try to get organized and I start by keeping a planner. I always lose it. Or it gets crushed in my backpack. I just use my phone now for important assignments.

13. Textbooks.

Will they arrive on time? Probably not. Will you use them more than once? Probably not. Will the break your bank account? Absolutely.

Hope everyone has a great semester and no one is stressing out like I am!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
