Anyone who knows me at all, knows that I over-plan just about everything. If they ever doubt it, I have a planner and a bullet journal to prove my point. As the summer is drawing closer to its end, people are starting to get back into the mindset of school being in session. For people like me, though, we've been back in this mindset for ages, and that comes with pros and cons.
1. Textbook Shopping

Pros: Since you're constantly thinking ahead, you're bound to keep a close eye on your college bookstore's website. When textbooks are announced, you'll know first and have plenty of time to find the cheapest prices and get them shipped to you on time. You'll also get to skip the giant line at the bookstore on the first day of classes.
Cons: Your professor might change the required reading late enough into the summer that you won't be able to return the book you already have. Professors also might mark books as required when they're actually optional, making you waste money on books you'll never actually read.
2. Actual Planning

Pros: This is what you do best. You already have your planners ready and decorated how you want, totally ready to keep track of homework, club meetings, office hours, and anything else that you need. It'll all be in one easy to find place.
Cons: You've spent so much time that you could have spent doing something fun working on your planner. You're also stressing yourself out because you're literally staring into the future every time you open these.
3. School Supply Shopping

Pros: You won't have to deal with the messy back to school section of department stores because you've bought everything pretty much as soon as the school section was put up. You get all the cutest designs and nicest notebooks because you were early to the game. No dollar store notebooks for you!
Cons: You miss out on final price mark downs. You'll probably end up having too much of one thing and needing to run to the store to get that one item that you always forget.
4. Anticipating Your Schedule

Cons: If one of your classes gets rescheduled or cancelled, you did all of this for nothing. You're also just stressing yourself out about the future even more than you already are.
5. Emotional Preparation
http://doctorfilm27.blogspot.com/2013/06/review-date-night_17.htmlPros: You're totally aware of how you're going to feel leading up to school starting because you go through the exact same emotional breakdowns ever year.
Cons: You're anticipating all of these negative emotions but still have to live through them and how tiring they are just like every other year.
It's safe to say that going back to school is full of ups and downs, but I just want to remind you all that you've got this! All of your planning will come in handy.
