All of these ideas are simple and cheap ways to make a slow babysitting day go by quicker. Using these ideas will result in a fun experience that the kids will love sharing with their parents at the end of the day, which looks great on you as a sitter!

1. Throw a concert.

Having the kids perform a concert is a fun way for them to express themselves. Have them gather up their favorite stuffed animals to watch them dance and sing to their favorite Disney songs. This is fun and free!

2. Make snacks together.

While this is a simple idea, it can be super fun and just may deem you the best babysitter of all time. Just keep in mind of allergies, and be careful when using the stove with young children. This is not only a fun activity, but it also results in a tasty treat!

3. Visit the town library.

Kids love the library and could spend literally hours there. It's free, it's educational, and it's entertaining! What more could you ask for?

4. Make a home movie theater.

Kids love to play pretend, so why not make a typical movie on DVD into a completely interactive experience? Tell the kids they are going to the movie theater, dim the lights in the viewing area, and complete the idea with "tickets" and a spot for them to get their popcorn!

5. Host a fashion show.

While this idea is mainly biased towards little girls, all kids love to dress up in costumes and put on a show. Set up a "stage" and let the kids choose outfits to display throughout the show!

6. Go out for the day.

Plan to take the kids out for the day to places like a park, toy shopping, or the zoo. Be sure to talk to their parent ahead of time to make sure it's alright, and have them leave you some cash for the kids to spend on the newest toys!

7. Make crafts.

Crafts are a great way to occupy the kids and allow them to be creative and have fun. Whether you print out some coloring pages or buy small wooden animals to paint, the kids will have some great art they will be proud of to show their parents.

When I was learning how to talk, I was taught both Portuguese and English at the same time. In elementary school, I started taking mandatory Spanish classes, which I did well in because of my knowledge of Portuguese. Then in high school, on top of taking Spanish, I also started taking French. Now, in college, already fluent in English and Portuguese, I'm in the process of becoming fluent in Spanish, and I have a standard high school level understanding of French.

I am without a doubt one of those people who refuses to start decorating for Christmas or listen to Christmas music until after Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, Thanksgiving has become an underrated holiday over the years. You barely see any Thanksgiving decorations in stores; it's like they skip right from Halloween to Christmas.
