12 Awrkward Moments That Everyone Goes Through, Not Just You

I know I can't be the only one who's experienced these moments.

I want to share some of my embarrassing moments I have endured in my life so far.

I just need to clear the air, relieve some of this weight on my shoulders, and throw it all out there. I cannot possibly be the only one who has gone through these awkward, very awful times, right?? Hopefully, you can relate to this article and get a good laugh out of it. If not, I guess I accidentally revealed all of this cringe-worthy stuff for no reason. Please enjoy my sacrifice.

1. When someone holds the door open for you and instead of saying "thank you" like a normal human, you just kind of question whether you should say anything or not, and by the time you decide, you're already through the door.

I swear I'm not trying to be rude, I just panicked?? I just want to take this moment and thank all of those kind, thoughtful people who held open the door for me.

2. When you trip on absolutely nothing in the middle of the sidewalk and then a) act like nothing happened or b) kind of look back at the nothingness that you tripped on, trying to act like "oh, I tripped on that huge rock", when you know you were just walking like a dufus.

Maybe nobody else does b) except for me. What can I say.

3. When you keep making eye contact with someone you don't mean to keep making eye contact with, but it keeps happening.

I don't know why, exactly.

4. Eating something when you're in an elevator with a bunch of people who aren't eating anything.

I will literally stop eating my ice cream cone and let it melt on my hand because I just can't eat it without it seeming incredibly loud and obnoxious to me. I'm not alone in this, right?

5. Handing someone my debit card/cash when I'm buying something before they're actually ready to take it and my hand just hovers in the air with the money at the ready.

I hate this so much, but I do it every time, dammit.

6. Pretending that you don't see someone half a block away so you don't have to wave at them from afar and then try not to make eye contact again until they're two feet from you.

Then I start laughing because this situation is so awkward. But if they aren't laughing either, I just look like a freak who waves from far away, avoids eye contact until you're close enough, and is laughing at absolutely nothing.

7. Laughing out loud at a joke that you just remembered from two days ago, but you're currently sitting in a silent classroom.

Why do I do this to myself.

8. Taking a selfie in an odd place and then someone walks by who obviously saw you take that selfie.

I did this at the library one time and I don't know. I felt weird and unsafe from prying, judgmental eyes.

9. Using a public bathroom and waiting for everyone to leave so you can go in peace.

I like to be polite and turn on the hand dryer so it's not totally silent in there. You're welcome everyone.

10. Seeing your boss, your old teacher or someone you do NOT want to talk to in public and pretending to be on your phone or reading the random noodles' ingredients you grabbed off the shelf to avoid contact with them.

Then you end up getting in the same grocery line with them later. Great.

11. Saying hello to someone and realizing they know your name, but you don't know theirs and you're just trying to avoid their name coming up somehow in conversation.

"Ok, bye...buddy."

12. When you make a weird noise that sounded like a fart, but was NOT a fart, so you try to make the same noise again so everyone knows it was definitely not a fart.

"It was my shoe, I swear"

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
